Here's the final and initial thumbnail for an illustration I recently finished for the story Like Water For Chocolate by Laura Esquivel. The story is about a sad mexican girl, Tita, who is in love with a boy that she could never marry. Her duty, as the youngest daughter in her family, is to take care of her mother until the day she dies. As therapy, throughout the story, she spends most of her time and energy into her cooking.

I really like that her face is a little more realistic than the rest of it. It might be cool to play with that more as time goes on. Looking great though!
I really liked this piece the other day in class, especially her face. The stylization is really nice! :]
there she is! again, lovely, beautiful tita's emotion really comes through, I love her tired eyes, great stylization, textures & color scheme, I would think about adding a touch of saturation maybe in the face or the food, but still its genius.
How do you get your drawings to be so personal?....great piece turned out awesome.
